Outdoor Concert+ Lots of Rain+ Mud+Plus Super Long Line+Questionable Scents= Great Fun

(P.S. I will try and add pictures of the concert either tomorrow night or Tuesday)

Alright, well the rain, the mud, the line, and the fact that I smelled something a little more than alcohol and cigarette smoke weren't that great....sucked actually. But none of that mattered to me tonight, because I got to see one of my greatest idols, and truest love preform live. Bob Dylan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would battle it all again for him.

In June my dad bought my family tickets to go see him. I won't even try to explain how happy I was when I found out. Words would be utterly pointless. He is one of my all-time heroes. (I will admit it took me awhile to get used to his voice, but his lyrics are so incredibly powerful! He wasn't afraid to write crap about the government or politicians, or even the faults of society. He changed and inspired many, many people, my country and I am sure many other countries with his songs. )

I am so happy I can now say I have gone to a Bob Dylan concert in my life time...he isn't going to be preforming much longer, and I got to see him! One of the most influential musicians and poets and I got to see him! And I must say he looked pretty sweet in his Cuban straw hat and black pin striped suit!

Here are some of my favorite Dylan songs:

Blowin' in the Wind
The Times They Are a Changin'
Like a Rolling Stone
When the Ships Come Sailing In
Positively Fourth Street
Just Like a Woman
Its All Over Now Baby Blue
Dark Eyes
Only a Pawn in Their Game
Desolation Row
Stuck Inside Of Mobile With the Memphis Blues Again - *He played this one!!!!*

Girls Night Out

(Its funny I've noticed that every picture my cousins and I take are coordinated with our hair color...Heather is always between me and Brenna, and Becky fit right in by me...lol. What would we have done if Heather had decided to keep her hair color the bright blonde she had it just a few days prior?! Our pictures would have been thrown into chaos, lol.)

Sorry for the lack of posts, my computer decided to take a......well it decided not to work for me for a little while. (Some smart person put a cheap samsung hard drive in our computer:( ...Don't get me wrong I love samsungs but hard drives are not their specialty.) Anyway, last Saturday my Grandma Grace planned a night for most of the girl cousins (all of us who still live up here) and and our moms. The plan was to eat at her house than go see the musical Beauty and the Beast. It sounds simple enough, but my family always has a way of turning the simple into an adventure.

The dinner was great, we ate outside under my grandma's pavilion (...I believe that is what its called....) My mom and Aunt Lesli raved about the Olympics while My Aunt Patty was (as a result of laughing to hard over some comment the two had said) choking on her salad. After we finished eating, Heather and I began to play with Tyler (Patty's baby). He is so cute he kept asking Heather for more "dizzies" ("dizzy" is what he calls it when Heather picks him up and spins him around) and then giggled hysterically when he got his way. He is so cute!

After we ate and mingled for a bit we went down to the theater to wait in line. It was quite an adventure....people in that city get oddly aggressive over these things....lol. Leave it to Becky to have a run in with the most aggressive lady there, ha ha. This woman, my family didn't know her name so we just referred to her as "blue shirt," was a total biotch. The play was a community play, but was surprisingly good. I didn't like the beast as much, but the girl who played Belle however was amazing, she sounded just like the girl who played her in the movie. In a few years she could be on Broadway. I was really impressed with the set up of the show. Still I couldn't help snicker at some parts, like how Babette, the feather-duster, had a very strong Spanish accent but was trying to have a french accent. I was pretty pleased with Gaston. (He has always been one of my favorite villans, lol.) In the Broadway version he is a lot more of a scum.

Anyway it was a lot of fun. Sorry for posting this so late. I have ALOT more I need to post on. But do to time I will have to do it later.

Catch up - Color Me Mine Date

Have you ever had one of those dates where everything goes so perfectly that it almost seems to be magic? Well this RARELY happens for me....I'm the type of girl that usually get stuck on the awkward dates...(however Ben is the exception to this...lucky streak...part of the reason I'm still with him, lol). Anyway I know when I describe this date it won't sound like that big of a deal, but it really was fun! Ben picked me up after work, I am still impressed at my mad skills of being able to get ready, 15 minutes after having fruit splatter on me all day, and look pretty dang good if I do say so myself...maybe it was the "magic of the date" already starting to work? We went down to Riverwood's, I had a whole bunch of coupons for Hogi Yogi so we ate dinner there, we got a bunch of their signature frozen yogurts too...like I said we took advantage of the coupons... then we walked over to Color me Mine (It is a cute shop where you pick from various ceramic things, like vases, piggy banks, cups, plates, sculpters...etc and you paint them). The best part was when we walked in it was "date night" so everything was half off! I painted a flower plate...which I currently have in my room, I keep my rings and necklaces in it. Ben painted a giant mug. After that we had planned to see a movie, but we still had a little time so we walked around the shops, there was a band playing in front of the Hope Art Gallery, they were incredible! So Ben and I stopped to listen to them, then Ben requested a song, it was an old jazz song, really beautiful. He and I Danced to it, and a few more after that. Then we went and saw the movie. I hope we can have more dates like this one!

*Sadly didn't have my camera with me the day we went but here are some pictures of when Ben and I picked our pieces up.*

Lyric Day???

I am not sure why but today I feel like posting lyrics lol. Anyway here is one of my all time favorites from the Hobbit.
Roads go ever ever on,
Over rock and under tree,
By caves where never sun has shone,
By streams that never find the sea;
Over snow by winter sown,
And through the merry flowers of June,
Over grass and over stone,
And under mountains of the moon.
Roads go ever ever on
Under cloud and under star,
Yet feet that wandering have gone
Turn at last to home afar.
Eyes that fire and sword have seen
And horror in the halls of stone
Look at last on meadows green
And trees and hills they long have known.

Boats and Birds by Gregory and the Hawk

If you be my star
I'll be your sky
you can hide underneath me and come out at night
when I turn jet black and you show off your light
I live to let you shine
I live to let you shine

but you can skyrocket away from me
and never come back if you find another galaxy
far from here with more room to fly
just leave me your stardust to remember you by

if you be my boat
I'll be your sea
a depth of pure blue just to probe curiosity
ebbing and flowing and pushed by a breeze
I live to make you free
I live to make you free

but you can set sail to the west if you want to
and past the horizon till I can't even see you
far from here where the beaches are wide
just leave me your wake to remember you by

if you be my star
I'll be your sky
you can hide underneath me and come out at night
when I turn jet black and you show off your light
I live to let you shine
I live to let you shine

but you can skyrocket away from me
and never come back if you find another galaxy
far from here with more room to fly
just leave me your stardust to remember you by
stardust to remember you by

I Love New Discoveries!

(This was the only image I could find of the bridge, I believe this picture was taken during the Fall, it was greener when i went over it today. The image is done by Robert Matthews )

This morning I was awake earlier than usual because I had to drive my mom to the car rental dealership (she and a few people from BYU are driving to Idaho to visit the BYU Idaho campus for some work related reason...I am not quite sure what it is other than that.) When I returned home, rather than falling back asleep (I was much to productive to even think of doing such a thing) I decided to pull out my bike and embark on an adventure. I rode all over my neighborhood but soon became bored with that so I decided to let my bike take me where it wished. I ended up turning on a bike pass I had never seen before,(I feel a little silly saying that because I am sure everyone who lives here knows it) It was a lovely trail that follows the river all the way to the lake! It was very pretty! Sadly I didn't go all of the way to the lake today, but I have plans too in the future!

Well in truth I had two discoveries today, although one was more of a rediscovery than an actual discovery. I discovered a fun pretty bike trail, that passes one of my favorite places to eat on the way, and I rediscovered how much fun bike riding can be! With gas prices increasing this is a very convenient rediscovery :P. I have plans to take Ben with me on Saturday morning, and after that I want to bike the Provo Canyon bike trail (the Provo Canyon Trail is the prettiest, it still passes the river as well it is just longer) to Bridal Veil Falls. I will do a better more descriptive post on both trips. Well I still have a lot of productive energy in me so I am going to put it to good use and clean my room!

Until my next post:)

30 Years of Painting the Town Pink---Happy 30th Betsey!

As I mentioned earlier I am a Betsey Johnson fanatic! It is her 30th year in the fashion business! 30 years and she is just as dynamite now as she was when she first started! If you go to this site there is an amazing article on her life and her works:

I really, really, really want her Layla B-day shoes, from her anniversary collection!
Anyone want to lend me 225 dollars? :(
